Painting contractor in first party bad faith action brought by homeowners against Safeco and a negligence action brought against the painting contractor after a fire burned their home and after Safeco allegedly refused to pay fair market value for the home and its contents. Matter successfully settled on eve of trial, for a nominal sum, after recouping a large portion of the painting contractor?s insurer?s overpayment to Safeco on the underlying fire loss subrogation claim.
